WHAT IS A RAGDOLL? |
| |
Ragdolls are large muscular cats which are semi-long haired with stunning blue eyes. Their fur is soft and silky and feels like rabbit fur. It is said to have non matting qualities but if neglected knots may appear especially under the front and hind legs so regular grooming is recommended. This is always a great time for bonding with your cat, and a good time to check them over from head to toe.
Ragdolls are gentle and laid back and are said to flop in ones arms when picked up, hence the name Ragdoll.

The original colours of the Ragdoll are seal, blue, chocolate and lilac then many years later we had the addition of red, cream, tortie points, tabby point and tortie-tabby points. All these colours can be found in three accepted patterns of colourpoint, mitted and bi-colour. Some
colours are more difficult to acquire than others
The
thing that sets the Ragdoll apart from other breeds is its
temperament. They have wonderful gentle, laid back natures,
this makes them ideal house pets. They become totally
devoted to their human families. The first thing that
strikes new Ragdoll owners who have bought kittens from me
is how confident their kitten is from the moment he/she
first steps from the cat carrier in to his/her new home. As
kittens they are lively and inquisitive. As they mature they
become even more loving and trusting, tending to follow
their owners about. They are one of the few breeds that are
suitable for almost any home, although if they are to be
left for long periods of time, they should have a companion.
But be warned you will probably find that one Ragdoll
is not enough!!
